How to Disable the WinGate DHCP Service

  1. Open GateKeeper.
  2. Log on as Administrator.
  3. Open WinGate DHCP Service.
  4. Select the General Configuration and under the startup options on the right hand side, select disabled.
  5. Click OK to close the DHCP service dialog.
  6. Right click on the DHCP service in GateKeeper, and select Stop from the context menu. This will permanently stop and unbind the service from the interface.

Important Note:

Do not change the port number. 67 is the only port used by DHCP, if you change it, it will not operate. The check box Allow allocation of non-private addresses should remain unchecked unless there is a specific requirement for WinGate to issue Public Ip addresses. Only use this option if it is essential to use IP numbers that are not in the private range.
