How to Disable the WinGate DHCP Service
- Open GateKeeper.
- Log on as Administrator.
- Open WinGate DHCP Service.
- Select the General Configuration and under the startup options on the right hand side, select disabled.
- Click OK to close the DHCP service dialog.
- Right click on the DHCP service in GateKeeper, and select Stop from the context menu. This will permanently stop and unbind the service from the interface.
Important Note:
Do not change the port number. 67 is the only port used by DHCP, if you change it, it will not operate. The check box Allow allocation of non-private addresses should remain unchecked unless there is a specific requirement for WinGate to issue Public Ip addresses. Only use this option if it is essential to use IP numbers that are not in the private range.
