Report templates. The basics.
In this small article, we are going to tell you about report templates and give you the basics on how to use them properly.
If you generate the same reports day after day, you are very likely to have thought how nice it would be to automate this process, even partially. Report templates are the perfect solution for this.
To create a report template:
- Select a report type from the list.
- Then specify the time period, which the report must cover.
- Select the objects to generate the report for.
- Finally, select the sections to include in the report.
Once you have specified all parameters of the future report, click the button
and enter the template name.
If you want to overwrite an existing template, simply select it from the list and click OK.
The next time you need to generate a report with these parameters, simply click the button
and load the template from disk. The parameters will take their corresponding values automatically.
A few words must be said on template settings. Each template has its own settings used by the task scheduler to generate reports automatically. To access template settings, click the Settings button in the Template list dialog.
