Advanced settings. Protocols

During the import process, the requests are associated with protocols (POP, SMTP, HTTP, FTP etc.).
The association is carried out as follows: the request is sequentially compared to each item on the "Protocols" list; when the first match occurs, the request is associated with the protocol it matched.

This page lists protocols registered in the program. You may add, delete or edit protocols here. To rename a protocol or to edit list of port numbers and protocol names matching the protocol, click on the "Edit item" button.

In the appeared dialog, you may edit the protocol's name, delete any item from the list of port numbers and protocol names or add a new item to the list.

Deleting protocols

It may happen that you will want to delete a protocol, which is already in use in the database; i.e. some records in the database may be associated with the protocol being deleted. In such case, when you try to delete the protocol, the program will prompt you to confirm the deletion. If you confirm the action and do delete the protocol - the reports will have the default "Deleted" protocol set by the request instead of the protocol you have deleted.
